Several new phones from both Polycom and Aastra are available to use with Lync. Sometimes you will need to reset the phone to, for example, factory defaults or just a hard reset. But what’s the difference between the resets:
- hard reset, will remove all currently saved user data
- factory default reset, will remove all currently saved user data and will restore the system image
But which procedure is necessary to perform this resets? Below both procedures are displayed:
Hard reset
- remove the powercord for at least 10 seconds
- press * and # during startup
- the phone will give a warning that all user data will be erased, confirm this
- the phone will reboot, during this process the logo of the manufacturer will be displayed
- wait till the process is finished and login again
Factory default reset
- remove the powercord for at least 10 seconds

- the phone will reboot, during this process the logo of the manufacturer will be displayed
